The moral high ground

I was raised in a Christian home. I am not Christian. Nor am I any religion. I do have my own beliefs, they may be considered pagan. I do hold some teachings from the Bible close to my heart though.  The first is not to judge. The second is that we were given the right to choose. I believe these go hand in hand. But also, some Christians have a hard time living with them.

This isn’t actually what I came here to say. One older relative of mine has an issue with day marriage. He says it defiles his 60year marriage. I’m not sure how it affects him really. I don’t really think that it’s his business what other people do.

The other thing is euthanasia . This is where I return to the right to choose..’ God’ gave us the right to choose which path we walk. We choose to do right or wrong. This means that no one should block us from taking our own lives if the pain gets too much. Maybe God says  it’s a sin.  But it’s way worse to force someone to suffer the horrors of the end stages of cancer.

Yes, the old man is Christian. That’s why I’ve bought ‘god’ into it. I don’t believe in God. But I do believe in walking the talk. And I hate contradictions.

I guess what the point is, is mind your own damn business. Focus on being a good person. Worry about your own household. You can waste 60 years worrying about other people. Just don’t.
